High Stakes: Polker and Politics

How does money influence politics? Yeah, we all KNOW that it does, but how exactly? Come play a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker tournament and find out!

Play with our Professional Poker Dealers using our Slightly Tweaked Rules, all for Incredible Prizes! We’ll also have an assortment of groups working in the area of Money and Politics on hand with useful information to use as we chat in between hands.

If you’re a Novice: don’t worry. Anyone can come and learn to play, and as you’ll see with our tweaked rules, you can even come and influence the outcome without actually sitting at the table (sound familiar?!)

If you’re a Poker Star: we know you’ll want to know exactly what you’re getting into so here are the rules we’ll be tweaking. Let’s see what you’ve got…

Rules:

1. Buy-ins will be on a donation basis and we’ll have three levels: $5, $10, $20. More money, more chips.
2. We’ll have a “extra card” chip available for $5. Present it at any time to the dealer and you get an extra card in your hand.
3. Anyone can buy chips or the “extra card” chips, but they don’t have to be sitting at a table to use them (ie: you can be a spectator and can give chips away to any player you’d like at any time, for any reason).

As people go out of the tournament (or for those who aren’t playing at all) we’ll have a conversation area to discuss what’s happening and how it relates to the political process. Snacks and drinks provided.
